I left my hometown of Eagle Pass, Tx on Monday morning and arrived in San Antonio around 9 am. We (my supervisor and I) went to the airport where we had a scheduled flight to Atlanta at 10:30 am. A few minutes before 10:30, the ticket agents told us that there was something wrong with the batteries to the navigation system. We were told that our flight would be delayed till 4 pm. Of course, we got upset but we were told that our tickets would still count. So we left to eat at Olive Garden and went shopping at the mall. We got back at the airport at 3 pm.
So, we went through the security checkpoint again and made it to the gate and were told that our flight was delayed again till 4:30 pm. So we were forced to wait and then we were told that the plane would leave at 5:30 pm due to the mechanic taking a little longer than it was thought. 5:30 came around and we finally boarded at 5:45 pm, then as we all got buckled in, we were told that the weather in Atlanta was goint to delay our flight another hour! We were pissed!
But we did leave, finally, close to 7 pm. We arrived in Atlanta around 9 pm, only to find out that we had missed our connecting flight(that the airline had rescheduled to 9 since the delay had ruined our original arrival time at 4 pm). We were forced to spend the night at the airport in Atlanta. We finally got to Washington D.C. at 10:30 am! After a 9 hour delay and an overnight stay in an airport!
Anyways, we went to our morning sessions and as soon as they were over, we went on a night time tour of the monuments. I took tons of pics, I just loved seeing the Lincold memorial and I was emotionally touched when I saw the Vietnam wall!
The next day, after a long day of sessions. We went to the Smithsonian museums where I took pictures of the dino bones, fabulous and historical jewels, and the cream of the crop....the Hope Diamond!
Sorry if the description is too short and rushed.....I am TIRED!

Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty.
When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black."
